SmallWorlds open beta launches today
“a free browser-based 3D virtual world that integrates YouTube, Flickr, and a number of other Web 2.0 services. The site is aimed at the teen and adult markets, and is designed to be more casual than Second Life.” - TechCrunch
I played around with it for an hour or so. You can create up to 5 avies. After you’ve created your av and entered the world, you’re immediately greeted with missions (yay! something to do) which are designed to help you get familiarized with the world and also earn you some moolah. So far it’s been fairly easy and uber fun.
Also met some of the guys from Outsmart (the company behind SmallWorlds) who were in-world to help us n00bs. I gave them a long wishlist of new features.
Am eager to see how SmallWorlds will stack up against the other browser-based virtual worlds.
Add me if you’re in. I’m sticking with Tyra Fierrens until I get more creative with my av name.
