First Meta partners Singaporean retailer to set up shop in Second Life
TANGS, Singapore’s premier retailer will be launching its virtual store in Second Life today in conjunction with Earth Hour, the global initiative organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) aimed at raising awareness about climate change. TANGS is a proud participant of the cause - all office lights, building facade lights and 30 per cent of the lights at TANGS Orchard and TANGS VivoCity will be switched off during Earth Hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm today. Virtual TANGS will simulate the same experience to the global virtual community and adopt a similar stand towards the cause as it makes its mark during the launch.

Virtual TANGS will be a realistic replica of the iconic 77-year old store on Singapore’s renowned Orchard Road, well-loved for its prominent green-tiled roof and red pillars. Virtual TANGS will Feature prominent virtual merchants along with familiar TANGS concepts, such as TANGS Beauty Hall and Wardrobe Women, and will carry virtual merchandise which shoppers can purchase for their avatars with the MetaCard™, the Linden dollar credit card issued by First Meta.
