hippoRENT Integration with First Meta
hippoRENT V5.0 is now integrated to accept the MetaCard. To start accepting MetaCard as a mode of payment, simply register for a merchant account (please see https://www.firstmeta.com/merchants) and the MetaCard Plug-in will be sent to you in your "MetaCard Merchant Package" upon approval.

The hippoRENT MetaCard Plug-in consists of integration scripts that allow your customers to pay for their tier and or lease from the hippoRENT using their MetaCard. Installation is simple, just follow the instructions as per below-mentioned and you are ready to accept MetaCard payments on your hippoRENT system.
Instructions
- Drop or “Rez” the hippoRENT rental box
- Configure your hippoRENT rental box (follow the instructions given with hippoRENT). For more information on this please consult your hippoRENT documentation or go to http://www.hippo-technologies.co.uk/resources/HippoRENT/box.php.
- Drop the MetaCard integration scripts (zmc_MetaCard and MetaCard Terminal 1.1) into the hippoRENT rental box.
- Click reset and your setup is completed and ready to accept MetaCard Payments.
Tenants can now pay their rent using MetaCard by clicking on the hippoRENT Rental Box and select the “MetaCard” button from the dialog.
Upgrading Existing V5.0 Rental Boxes
Existing rental boxes, version 5.0 and above can be upgraded:
- Drop the MetaCard integration scripts (zmc_MetaCard and MetaCard Terminal 1.1) into the Rental Box inventory.
- “Reset” the rental box by clicking on it and select the “Reset” button from the main menu dialog.
Additional Features
- Profit Sharing – Split sales proceeds with your business partner
hippoRENT is configured to provide the profit sharing feature. All profit sharing avatars must register for a MetaCard Merchant account as per above requirements.
